Introducing new Gold Coast trainer - Sean Rae

With 15 years in the Aged Care industry, Sean brings extensive experience to the DPT classroom.

Welcome Sean to DPT - here is the lowdown on his training experience.

What is your training experience?

My training experience began with training new staff and students on vocational placement in Aged Care Facilities, with a large focus on the personal care, dementia care through to manual handling. I have been training and facilitating the Cert 3 in Individual Support for the past 5 months.

What is your aged care/disability experience?

I have worked across the Aged Care/Disability sector for the past 15 years with a large part of my career focusing on Dementia and Palliative Care. I've also worked in all sectors of Aged Care and also with disability clients in Home Care settings and in disability facilities.

What do you enjoy about training?

What I find most satisfying about Training in Aged Care/Disability is passing the knowledge and passion that I have for caring for people, onto students.  Also seeing this knowledge and passion grow with them throughout the course and into their new career path

What do you like to do when not working?

I am an outdoors person and very family orientated. I spend most of my time at the beach with my family and wife and I have just started teaching my daughter to surf - which is probably the most fun I've ever had.
