There are many factors when trying to gain employment in the Home care, Aged Care or Disability sector. Volunteering is one of 5 tips to help you on the road to success.

1. Gaining employment during your Aged Care placement is the best way in to this sector. Towards the end of your placement go see your supervisor and simply ask. If you've done a good job through your course, been reliable and confident and there is vacancy, then you have a good chance.

2. For Disability work employment you may have to study the Cert 4 in Disability. There are 6 units you will get credit for if you are going your Cert 3.

3. For Home Care employment try to get placement in a larger organisation where they have an aged care facility and a home care service. You can then request to have some placement shifts in Home Care.

4. Another way is to gain employment is to volunteer. You can do this at an Aged Care facility, or a disability service like the Disabled Surfers Association.
