Course Description
This skill set reflects the skill requirements for supporting people who require basic foot, skin and nail care. It provides a skill set for people working in various care and support roles in the community services sector who wish to develop skills in providing basic foot, skin and nail care. This skill set is for existing workers who are wanting to provide basic foot, skin and nail care as identified by a relevant health professional.

Course Delivery

This course is delivered via blended model which includes:
- Online delivery for 3 units of competency
- Self-paced (up to 6 months to complete)
- Trainers/Assessors are available Monday – Friday between 8:30 am – 4:30 pm through email and/or telephone.
- Upon completion of the theory, a 4-hour practical simulation at one of our training venues and/or workplace demonstration of skills attained

Credit Transfer
DP Training accepts and provides credit transfers to learners who have authenticated and verified VET transcripts and AQF certification documentation issued by another Registered Training Organisation.

Entry Requirements
It is an entry requirement that you are an Existing Worker in the Community Services and Health industry or are a parent or unpaid carer of a NDIS participant, and that you hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in an area involving the provision of direct client care or support. The target learners are people who are currently working in various care and support roles and wish to develop skills in providing basic foot, skin and nail care.
In addition, the target learner must:
- be over 15 years of age, who have finished or left secondary school
- undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Skills Indicator assessment questionnaire
- have technological skills to undertake computer/online work and have
- access to a computer and software with the following minimum specifications
- Microsoft Windows XP, or later, or Mac OS X or above; Microsoft Office or equivalent and Adobe Acrobat Reader/Adobe Flash Player and up to date internet browser
Enrolment Requirements
Please be advised the following documents will be required to be submitted with your enrolment:
- Proof of ID: Colour copy of Passport or Driver’s Licence.
- Unique Student Identification Number (USI)
- Colour copy of Certificates and Statement Results for any previously attained or partially completed qualifications completed in or recognised in Australia.
- Evidence of current employment in the sector (payslip or employment contract).
- Evidence of Certificate III in Individual Support (or superseded qualification).

Fees & Funding
Fee for Service
- A full fee paying student – total course fee $735
A $250 deposit is required prior to commencing training and assessment, with weekly, fortnightly and monthly payment plans to pay the remaining fees.
