If you are seeking a rewarding career in the Community Services and Health industry DP Training can assist you to become a qualified Assistant in Nursing – AIN with a Nationally recognised qualification- and a referral to a community based organisation or AIN Agency for an interview and for the opportunity to gain employemnt in this field . Based on your area of interest we can support you to gain the skills required to work in any of the following areas;

  • Home and Community Care - assisting the elderly to remain independant in their own home
  • Disability Services - to assist and re-enable people with a disability, in their own home, group home or respite centre
  • Aged Care - to work in a aged care residential facility, low care, high care, dementia care, palliative care
  • Health Services Assistant - AIN in a Hospital, medical Centre or care facility

The course content has been specifically designed to incorporate adult learning principles, so that our students can obtain the qualification and gain all the theory and practical knowledge required within weeks, be supported with a vocational placement, practical on the job training, preparation for employement in the industry!

Our course program includes :

1) Classroom based training:
classroom attendance – “Face to Face” - training with industry qualified trainers. This is of great assistance for those who wish to build up confidence, learn from trainers experienced in the industry and brush up their studying skills.

2) On the job training :

Practical workplace training through a Vocational Placement is the focus of our course program. This practical approach to learning will prepare our students to ease into 120 hours of on the job training required to gain the qualification.

Our Training Organisation will support students to organise the vocational placement - work experience with an accredited care provider. It can be an aged care facility, health care, disability or community based service provider.

Vocational placement is structured workplace learning, a training plan is developed to support your requirements of tasks to complete during your placement. These tasks support you to prepare for the workforce. Vocational Placement is an important part of the program that has been designed for students to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom to a practical level in a workplace environment.

3) Employment:

This program is best suited to those who, with support, will successfully be able to gain employment in the Community Services and Health Care Sector.

Our Training Organisation will support all students through the processes of: initial training and gaining the right qualifications, through to resume preparation, job applications and interview techniques – we support you to get a job offer and kick start your career in the Community Services and Health Care Industry.

All students who successfully complete the programme requirements are offered an interview with a community service provider and the opportunity of employment within the industry.

The Community Services and Health Industry has become the largest employer in Australia. The need for qualified staff is at critical levels and will continue to increase in demand in the coming years.

Many students can be offered work by their work experience employers before the completion of their training, for others - the experience gained supports their applications for equivalent positions in the industry.

Upon completion of the Certificate III Qualifications, your pathway can continue to a Certificate IV level and higher, we are able to support you throughout your chosen career path.

COURSE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • Photo Identification
  • Completed enrolment form
  • Genuine interest in the Community Services, Health and Disability Sectors
  • The need to read, write and communicate in English to a level required to perform the job.

ASSESSMENT

Assessments that you will undertake may include:

  • Short Questions
  • Case Studies
  • Research Activities
  • Projects
  • Observation by a trained assessor in a simulated environment
  • Third party by workplace supervisor

To Attain the certificate all assessments and vocational placement hours are required to be completed.
