Course Overview

CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services will prepare an individual for a wide range of roles within the Community Services sector, including case management and the management, coordination and/or delivery of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities. This course can also be a pathway to tertiary education.

At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management; program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.

Course Duration

The total course duration for CHC52021 Diploma of Community Sector Management is 78 weeks. This includes:

Compulsory orientation and course induction on the first Monday of every month.
20 hours per week x 78 weeks (inclusive of compulsory holiday breaks)

Course Entry Requirements

Applicants must have completed year 12 schooling (or equivalent).
Applicants should be a minimum of 17 years of age at the time of application and must be 18 years of age at the commencement of the course.
Students must also be able to obtain several security clearance checks.

We accept the following English tests and levels for entry into VET courses.

Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic Module	Minimum overall score of 50
TOEFL Internet Based Test (iBT) (only accepted if test is taken on or before 25 July 2023)*	Minimum overall score of 64

*On 26 July 2023 the TOEFL internet-based test (TOEFL iBT) stopped offering English language tests for Australian visa purposes. A score for a TOEFL iBT test taken on or after 26 July 2023 will no longer satisfy the English language requirement for Student visa purposes. Only TOEFL iBT scores from a test taken on or before 25 July 2023 are accepted for Student visa purposes.

**From 12 February 2024, only results from the paper-based Cambridge C1 Advanced test (previously known as Cambridge English: Advanced CAE) will be accepted for Australian visa and migration purposes. Test scores for both C1 Advanced paper-based and computer-based tests, taken before 12 February 2024, within the specified validity period are still accepted.
