This skill set addresses the skills and knowledge required to provide services on a freelance basis. It is for people who want to offer their skills, or plan to offer their services on a freelance basis.

As Nationally accredited course, these units provide credit towards a number of qualifications that allow for the selection of these units.

Course Delivery

This course is delivered via DP Learnign@Home model, offering the opportunity to study your way

  • Training Materials offered using electronic based delivery,
  • Trainers/Assessors being available to support you through email and/or telephone contact.
  • 5 units of competency
  • Office/business workplace access, for students whom do not have access to office/business workplace, DP training offers business/office classroom simulated environment at DP training locations
  • The opportunity to participate trainer-led study support sessions every Wednesday (9:00am – 12:00pm) for the duration of your course
  • Self-paced (up to 12 months to complete)
  • Rolling intake, start anytime!

Course Entry Requirements

The target learners and entry requirements for this course must:

  • Require formal training and assessment in this Skill Set as per their organisation’s guidelines or employment requirements.
  • be over 15 years of age, who have finished or left secondary school
  • undertake a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Skills Indicator assessment questionnaire
  • have technological skills to undertake computer/online work and have
  • access to a computer and software with the following minimum specifications
  • Microsoft Windows XP, or later, or Mac OS X or above; Microsoft Office or equivalent and Adobe Acrobat Reader/Adobe Flash Player and up to date internet browser

To receive an award for this skill set Students are required to complete all units listed above as competent within a period of 6 months.

Students will be provided with all the Student training and assessment materials for each unit of competency required to complete the course

Student Support
  • DP offers a robust student support system to ensure Learners will be able to successfully complete all requirements of the training package
  • A minimum requirement for eligibility into this program is the demonstrated capability to understand, perform and complete tasks at an AQF Level 5 indicator
  • All students will be screened for course eligibility including LLN testing. Students from diverse backgrounds whom may be identified as potentially experiencing LLN difficulties will be supported throughout their journey and/or referred to specialist LLN programs to upskill.
  • Participants will be assigned a dedicated Trainer + Assessor at the commencement of the course who will be their primary point of contact for all learning and student support needs
  • A Training Manager is available to support students through the development of individual learning and academic intervention plans where appropriate including reviewing timelines for the submission of assessment tasks to ensure the successful completion of all requisite tasks
  • Additional Student Support Sessions are available weekly and attendance is encouraged
  • Access to DP Hub – our 24/7 learning management system
